Interested in a Chattanooga Wedding at The Read House Hotel?

Travel with us there to an incredible 1920’s Speakeasy-themed wedding.

The Venue: The Read House Hotel

This past April, we decided to team up with some of Chattanooga’s greatest wedding vendors to create a beautiful styled shoot at the ever famous Read House Hotel.

If you are not familiar with The Read House, it is Chattanooga’s historic and 1920s inspired hotel (it was actually built in 1926, and remodeled in 2017).

With its vintage art deco design, The Read House is perfect for those looking for an elegant and classy venue.

The Design: How We Created the Look

For this styled shoot, we wanted to play with the already 20s inspired architecture.

First, we had to consider the colors and design of the ballroom. The carpet floor consists of various shades of lavender, pulling out the silver tones in the room.

Surrounding the room, from the floor all the way to the ceiling, are extravagant mirrors.

Covering the walls and ceiling are detailed silver designs. We wanted to highlight the ballroom’s silver accents by sticking to a very simple, clear, white and silver color palette.

The Party Favors & Gift Boxes

For this Chattanooga Wedding at The Read House Hotel, we chose silver linens for the tables and paired them with ghost chairs. For the tablescape, we used silver choral chargers with white plates and grey napkins.

Divine Goods provide the perfect party favors (chocolates by Belle Chocolates) and gift box, which were boxed perfectly and beautifully.

Next, we placed each box in front of the plates. The lettering was provided by Catharine Coll Creative.

Catharine chose white lettering against acrylic, which matched the ghost chairs perfectly.

The Centerpiece

The centerpiece was a large vase of overflowing white flowers crafted by Emily Kaye Designs. Emily paired several different white flowers and greenery to create her masterpiece. Our favorite part of the arrangements were the touches of bleached greenery, which made for the perfect statement pieces.  All of the textures and elements of everyone’s designs complemented one another well and added a clean and sleek modern look.

The Wedding Invites

Catharine created the invitations, menus, and signs for the event.

We loved the blacks, greys, and whites she incorporated in her design.

The white ink stood out against the grey and black. The grey ribbon stamped with a seal tied the whole look together.

The Dress & Suit

All About the Bride and Giorgio Men’s Warehouse provided us with the perfect ivory and black look.

The Dress

The dress we chose is slim fitting and flowy. There is a tasteful amount of beaded detail on the shoulders and sides of the dress – perfect for the vintage modern look we wanted to create.

The beaded details channeled the 20s, while the long plain ivory fabric pulled the classic modern twist.

The Suit

The classic black suit and ivory jacket were exemplary against the ivory dress. The black silk collar on the suit jacket made for a sleek and smooth look.

The Jewels and Gems

We still haven’t recovered from these gorgeous accessories by Fischer Evans. Just take a look at this beautiful vintage ring! Talk about eye candy!

The Desserts: Let’s Talk Sweets

The cake was designed by B’s Sweets. First of all, can we just take a minute to appreciate how stunning this spiral cake is??

We LOVED the minimal geometric detail. It’s very simple yet still so bold! The desserts were crafted by Verdant Baking Co. Oh my, were they delicious! The perfect amount of flavors and the perfect bite-size!

And a bonus?

All-natural and all homemade – from fruit tarts to cupcakes, to marshmallows!
