We are feeling SO giddy over this boho mountain wedding! Julia and Jordan were married this past September up on Lookout Mountain at the beautiful Grandview. The whole day was amazing and full of love, life and views for days!
How They Met
Every love story has to start somewhere and for these two lovebirds it was nursing school at Carson Newman! Jordan was a year behind Julia and after graduation she moved to Chattanooga to start at Erlanger Children’s. A year later, he just happened to do the same thing! New nurses have a preceptorship where they’re assigned to an older nurse who teaches them skills, time management, and how to serve their patients. And as fate would have it Julia was Jordan’s preceptor! They became really good friends but didn’t date at first. Then at their work Christmas party a few months later, they both happened to come without dates. So, they hung out all night and realized there was something more. The rest is history!
Today, the Beatys are both still practicing nurses. You’ll find Jordan at Children’s Pediatric Emergency Room and Julia is an ER nurse at Memorial. When they’re not at a hospital, the Beatys enjoy reading, music festivals, and going on adventures together.
Mountain Views, Bohemian Feels
Grandview has a panoramic view that wows every guest. We love the backdrop and feel that our beloved city provides. And with the panoramic views come the most amazing sunsets. So, for Julia and Jordan it was truly a no brainer to go with this venue!
Boho Bridal Party
Before heading to the ceremony, there’s lots to be done to get ready! But Julia and Jordan made sure there was some quality time with their bridal party before walking down the aisle. The girls grabbed a bite to eat at Mojo Burrito while the boys headed to a local brewery, Oddstory.
After grabbing some burritos and brews the crew got back to getting ready. Julia slipped on her dress, her makeup was finished and all of the details were set and ready.
The Dress & The Details
Julia’s dress is from Ever After Bridal and features lace details and the most beautiful straps. Look at her twirl! And surprise! There’s a special patch added on the inside of her dress to honor her Aunt Cynthia. Julia’s aunt Cynthia (moms younger sister) died from a glioblastoma (brain tumor) in January of 2017. She was one of Julia’s favorite humans and they are said to have had very similar personalities. She was always down for a party! The C is from one of her monogrammed purses out of her personal collection. It was really important to Julia to have her there.
We love meaningful details like this and feel that they really are what make wedding days so special!
Ceremony Details
We are OBSESSED with this arbor with macrame details and flowers by Fox and Fern. The layered rugs from Copper Quail help add to the boho vibes and create warmth and intimacy for the couples’ “I Do’s.”
Also, check out this sweet trick they pulled on the flower girl and ring bearer. Julia cleverly hid some candy at the bottom of the basket and box to encourage them to make it all the way down the aisle and throw out the petals. Anyone that has kids in their bridal party should totally adopt this trick!
Boho Flowers
We love the simple greenery with lush white flowers mixed in. And those golden trailing ribbons are to die for! The bridal bouquet tied in with details from the sweetheart table, ceremony site, and of course the guys’ boutonnieres!
Mountain View Reception & Party
The bistro lights lit up the night as guests ate and mingled over food provided by Grandview. This venue is a one stop shop providing ceremony and reception sites, linens, catering, bartending and alcohol! Of course, the view is astounding as well!
Also, peep this amazing sweetheart table! The greenery mixed with the golden candlesticks (from Copper Quail) and pompous grass complete the boho feel of this mountain wedding.
Sweet Treats
We LOVE how the macrame details were carried throughout the entire day! First on the bride’s dress, then on the ceremony arbor, and now on the cake! What a dream!
And let’s not neglect this awesome Harry Potter groom’s cake. There’s even a golden snitch!
Dancing in the Moonlight
We love the way these two look at each other with eyes full of love!
Overall, everything about Julia & Jordan’s big day was dreamy! We love the mountain views and boho vibes and all the details that added to their amazing wedding. We truly loved helping with your wedding and loved how it all came together! Cheers!
